Cal Look
Written out: California Look. This style influenced the aircooled-scene all over the world like no other. At the end of the 1960's this kind of Beetle-tuning arose in Orange County, south of Los Angeles. A few years later, the publicity of the style increased, when Jere Alhadeff gave the style a name in the February issue in 1975 of Hot VWs, the name was: California Look.The intention of the Cal Look is simple: A subtle VW in every possible way except for a high horsepower engine! The Cal Look VW was a real surprise at traffic lights and dragstrips. Since then, the Look has kept evolving and has been around for over three decades by now.
